I got the ATB trance music going on my computer now, all nice and copied to my hard drive into yummy .wav files. This stereo hasn't given me any problems since I had it apart and cleaned it. From what I can tell the fan is automatic and probably only runs when the unit is pumping out the joules. I have six watt speakers hooked up to it so it's not going to be straining itself if it can do 100 watts a channel like the specs say.
I have had a good afternoon, though I probably sat around too long. I checked out the prices for things when I was at Radio Shack this morning. They have gotten expensive on things like connectors. I was going to get a BNC to RCA adapter, but ten bucks for a barrel adapter is a bit much. I should have just gotten some RCA plugs and made my own antenna cable out of coaxial cable, but then that would be something a soldering geek like me would do.
This stereo sounds so much better than the tiny speakers that came with this computer. I am glad that some of the apps that came with this machine are finding some use after eight years. I have some things I want to do in the future like set up a really good sound system and do some music mixing myself if I ever figure out how to do that. I got bass and electronica and ethereal voices coming out of my computer now and no lousy commercials.
I have to find some more music like this to rip onto my hard drive. I think the library has an electronic music section now but I am not sure. I may as well sit around all day and listen to music and write in my journal. I suppose one day this journal will have a purpose. Now it's just my random thoughts. I made some upgrades in the last day and have things working well enough. I wish I thought to turn my computer into a music station sooner. Now all I have to do is figure out how to broadcast these tunes over the net in a radio stream. Then I can sit here and be a DJ all day and try to figure out some way to cash in on my new hobby.
